Information About our Other Summer Camps

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is staying healthy and doing well!  I understand there are many questions and concerns regarding the YWCA’s Summer Camps, so I’d like to let you know what our plans are at the moment.  As of right now, the YWCA has decided to close several of our camp locations for the summer. While we’re optimistic that we will be able to run some version of summer camp, it will look a little different than past years.  We understand that this is a stressful time for everyone, but we look forward to having a cheerful summer and we will keep you updated through our website and emails as we learn more.  Please read through the details about our plans for the YWCA’s Summer Camps.

Davis Summer Camp (June 22nd– July 31st) – Canceled

Shafer Summer Camp (June 22nd– July 31st) – Canceled

Country Commons Summer Camp at Shafer (June 22nd– July 31st) – Canceled

Foxwood Summer Camp (June 22nd– July 31st)- Canceled

The YWCA has made it our mission to continue to serve our participants during these times.

Common Questions & Answers

Will the YWCA camps open?

As of right now, we have canceled our traditional summer camps. We are holding a summer camp starting in July at our Creekside location.  The safety of our campers is always our number one priority so we will be following CDC recommendations and guidelines on how to safely run a camp at Creekside this summer. The YWCA is actively monitoring the situation knowing that both Covid-19 and guidance for deling with it may change over time. Right below there is a link to our Creekside Summer Camp information and registration.

Will I be refunded my money if my child is registered for camp and cannot attend?

Yes, if you have already made payments towards camp the YWCA will be offering full refunds to all families.  If you have registered and paid for camp and are requesting a refund please reach out to us at registrar@ywcabucks.org

How is the YWCA preparing for camp during this crisis?

The YWCA will be following CDC guidelines that include:

  • Smaller group sizes
  • Limited hours
  • Staggered arrival and drop off times
  • Temperature screenings for all staff and campers upon arrival
  • All staff members will be required to wear masks
  • Camp activities will allow for social distancing

Are you currently providing any types of programs or services for children?

Yes! We are currently providing FREE Grab & Go meals for any child.

Grab & Go Feeding Programs

Parents can come to pick up FREE breakfast and lunch for any child under 18 at one of our 3 feeding locations. Meals are served Grab & Go style to minimize contact and maintain social distancing. Parents can collect up to 3 days’ worth of meals per child each visit, and children do not need to be present to collect meals. In addition to the meals, families will receive educational materials and worksheets to help keep students engaged and educated!  Please see the information below of our feeding locations, dates, and times. This program is open to all families!
